Clear books, every month — so you can run the business

Fine Books provides outsourced bookkeeping for accountancy practices and for companies that want a reliable ledger without a full in-house team. We work in your cloud stack (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and similar) with VAT, payroll postings and bank feeds in mind — so directors and file reviewers see a true picture of cash and profit, not a backlog of uncoded transactions.

What is included

How we deliver this service for practices and companies

Day-to-day bookkeeping

Purchase and sales invoices, expense claims, petty cash, journals and month-end close. We code to a chart of accounts that matches how you actually trade — not a generic template that hides the story.

Keeping you audit-ready

Working papers, source documents and a clean audit trail so statutory accounts and due diligence do not start with a reconstruction project. Gaps are flagged early, not in week one of the audit.

Books cleanup

Catch-up bookkeeping for companies that have fallen behind: unreconciled banks, duplicate suppliers, VAT coding errors and opening-balance issues. We restore a reliable starting point, then keep it that way.

Revenue reconciliation with bank deposits

Match invoices, marketplace payouts, card settlements and bank receipts so turnover in the P&L agrees to cash in the bank. Timing differences and fees are explained, not ignored.

Digital bookkeeping

Bank feeds, receipt capture, approval workflows and cloud access for directors and advisors. You get live numbers without chasing paper around the office.

What good bookkeeping actually protects

Late or messy books are not only an admin problem. They distort VAT, corporation tax estimates, management decisions and covenant reporting. Fine Books treats bookkeeping as a control: every material balance should have a reason, a document and a date. That is how directors stay in control of cash, and how advisors can sign off without rewriting the year.

VAT-aware coding and period-end packs

Bank, card and Stripe/PayPal-style payout matching

Cloud bookkeeping with controlled user access

Practical questions

How we work with your accountant

We sit on the production side of the line. Statutory filings, audit opinions and regulated advice stay with the professionals you appoint. We keep the ledger, packs and evidence organised so they can work faster.

Limited companies, LLPs and growing sole traders that need reliable monthly books without hiring a full in-house team. We support firms that already have an accountant and those that need a bookkeeping layer underneath accounts production.

We maintain the ledger they rely on. Period-end packs, reconciliations and queries are organised so year-end and tax work is review, not reconstruction. If they specify a chart of accounts or naming convention, we follow it.

We typically work in Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage, plus the banks and apps you already use. If you are migrating, we plan the cutover so VAT periods and opening balances stay intact.

It means a reconcilable bank, support for material balances, consistent revenue recognition and a document trail an auditor can sample. It does not replace a statutory audit — it makes that audit (or a lender review) faster and cheaper.
